There are many metaphors for both organization and group development, but only a handful are scientifically evaluated. Improvisation also called improv offers exciting new opportunities for developing cooperation and creativity in a team. We like it different, and we like the playful. Improv meets both criteria. Earlier studies have shown that business have a lot a learn from the world of art.
Our study researches the effects of a shorter class on improv in teams and groups. We measure creativity and ability to cooperate both before and after the class, and then compare the results against a control group that are taking classes in a more traditional group development program.
